There always seem to be three or four pencils or pens strewn on a desk or counter top.  These pencil pots make it easy to keep them in order, but still handy.  Made in various shapes and styles, they tend to widen slightly at the base which makes them stable.  Pair one with a letter opener to make a nice desk set.
