A friend in town who is a yarn spinner (a spinner of fiber, not stories) asked if I would make her a nostepinne.  Once she explained what it was I was happy to oblige.

A nostepinne is a tool that knitters and spinners use to wind yarn into a ball that pulls from the center. They like when it does that.

The winding technique is easy enough that even I can do it, though I have no way to use the resulting ball since I cannot knit.
