I was at a craft show in Rutland some years back and as a gentleman was admiring my work, he asked if I could make a muddler.  “Sure”, I said.  “What’s a muddler?”

These are muddlers. Similar to a pestle, they are used for mashing fruit or herbs when making cocktails such as an Old Fashioned, Mojito, or Mint Julep.  About 1-1/2″ at the base and 7-1/2″ long, they fit comfortably into a cocktail glass.

Now, where’s that bourbon?
